Move your codes and passwords into Smile Auth
Bring everything over from Apple Passwords, Proton, Google Authenticator and more.
Smile Auth reads the exports of the popular apps. In Smile Auth, open Settings > Import and Choose a file - you’ll see what will be imported (and anything it couldn’t read) before anything is saved.
Getting the export from your old app
| App | How to export |
|---|---|
| Apple Passwords | On a Mac: Passwords > File > Export All Passwords (your verification codes come too). On Windows: the Apple Passwords app from iCloud for Windows > Export. |
| Proton Pass | Settings > Export, choose JSON with PGP encryption off. Choose the .zip it saves. |
| Proton Authenticator | Settings > Export. Choose the .json file. |
| Google Authenticator | Menu > Transfer accounts > Export. In Smile Auth use Add code > Scan and scan the QR code it shows. |
| 2FAS | Settings > 2FAS Backup > Export to file (without a password). |
| Aegis | Settings > Import & Export > Export, unencrypted JSON. |
| Ente Auth | Settings > Data > Export codes, plain text. |
| Bitwarden | Tools > Export vault, .json (not the encrypted kind). |
| 1Password | File > Export, CSV. |
| Chrome / Edge | Password Manager > Settings > Export passwords. |
| Microsoft Authenticator, Authy | These don’t let you export. Turn 2FA off and on again on each site, and scan the new QR code with Smile. |
चेतावनीExport files aren’t encrypted. Delete the file once it’s imported.
Things Smile Auth can’t bring over are listed with the reason - for example passkeys from Proton Pass (make a new passkey for that site in Smile instead) and Proton email aliases (they stay in Proton).
