Connect your Discord server

Auto-roles, auto-moderation, a console channel, live logs and remote start/stop - Power plan and above.

Обновлено 12 сент. 2026 г.2 мин чтения

The Discord integration links one of your Smile Hosting servers to your own Discord server, through our bot, Smile Utilities. It’s available on the Power plan and above.

Once connected you can have:

  • Auto-role - give every new member of your Discord server a role automatically.
  • Auto moderation - delete messages containing banned words, and time out people who keep doing it.
  • A console channel - type commands in a Discord channel and see the output there.
  • A logs channel - your server’s output posted live into a channel.
  • Remote start/stop - /server start, /server stop and /server restart from Discord.

1. Invite Smile Utilities

Invite Smile Utilities to your Discord server. You need the Manage Server permission there to add a bot.

Важно

For auto-role to work, Smile Utilities’ role must sit above the role it gives out. In Discord, open Server Settings > Roles and drag the Smile Utilities role higher.

2. Copy your Discord IDs

Discord hides IDs until you turn on Developer Mode: User Settings > Advanced > Developer Mode. Then:

  • Server ID - right-click your server’s icon > Copy Server ID.
  • Channel ID - right-click a channel > Copy Channel ID.
  • Role ID - Server Settings > Roles, right-click a role > Copy Role ID.

3. Connect it

  1. Open your Smile Hosting server and go to the Discord tab.
  2. Paste your Discord Guild (server) ID and click Connect. This checks the bot is in your server and set up properly.
  3. Fill in whichever extras you want - all optional:
    • Auto-role ID - the role new members get.
    • Console channel ID - where commands can be typed.
    • Logs channel ID - where output is posted.
  4. Turn on Auto moderation if you want it, and list Banned words, separated by commas.
  5. Turn on Remote start/stop to allow the /server commands.
  6. Make sure the Master switch is on, then click Save Discord settings.

Using the console channel

Only your Discord account can run commands in the console channel, so link Discord to your Smile account first. Messages from anyone else in that channel are ignored. Commands time out after 15 seconds, and long output is cut short.

The /server commands

Command What it does
/server status Shows whether the server is running
/server start Starts it
/server stop Stops it
/server restart Restarts it

To switch everything off without losing your settings, turn off the Master switch and save.
