Create a server

Deploy your first Discord bot or website on Smile Hosting.

Actualizado el 13 sept 20262 min de lectura

A server on Smile Hosting is one app - a Discord bot or a website - with its own files, console and settings. How many you can have depends on your plan’s server slots.

Before you start

  • You need a Smile account and a plan with a free server slot. See Plans and billing.
  • Have your code ready: a folder with your main file (for example index.js or bot.py) and your dependency list (package.json or requirements.txt).

Create it

  1. Open your dashboard and go to Servers.
  2. Click + New server.
  3. Give it a Server name you’ll recognise, such as My Discord Bot.
  4. Pick a Type:
    • Discord Bot - runs your bot’s code.
    • Website - puts a site online at its own address on smilehosting.tech. You’ll also pick a Framework (Static, Node.js or Python) and, if you like, a Subdomain. Read Host a website before choosing this.
    • Game, API, Worker and Mail are marked soon and can’t be picked yet.
  5. Choose the Location closest to you or your users: UK (London), EU (Frankfurt), US (New York) or APAC (Singapore).
  6. Click Deploy server.

Your new server appears under Your servers. Click it to open its management page, which has tabs for Console, Files, Logs, Settings, Sharing, Discord and AI. A Website opens a project page with Overview and Deployments tabs instead - see Host a website.

Got a lot of servers? Use the search box and the type and status filters above the list to find one quickly.

What next

  1. Set up your server - choose its language and start command.
  2. Upload your files.
  3. Press Start on the Console tab.
Nota

Server slots used and storage used are shown at the top of the Servers page, so you can see how much room your plan has left.
