Set up your server
Pick the language, the start command and the install command.
Before a server can start, it needs to know what language your code is in and which command runs it. All of this lives on the server’s Settings tab.
Choose the runtime
Open your server, go to Settings and pick your Runtime / language. Picking one fills in sensible default commands, which you can change:
| Runtime | Default run command | Default install command |
|---|---|---|
| Python | python bot.py |
pip install -r requirements.txt |
| Node.js | node index.js |
npm install |
| Bun | bun run index.ts |
bun install |
| Deno | deno run main.ts |
(none) |
| Rust | cargo run |
cargo build |
| Go | go run main.go |
go mod download |
| Ruby | ruby app.rb |
bundle install |
| PHP | php index.php |
composer install |
| Bash | bash start.sh |
(none) |
Set the run command
Run command is what happens when you press Start. It has to match your main file exactly - if your bot’s file is called main.py, change python bot.py to python main.py.
Set the install command
Install command installs your dependencies from package.json, requirements.txt and so on. Click Save settings, then Install deps to run it.
СоветRun Install deps again whenever you add a new package to your dependency list. You never need to upload
node_modulesor a virtual environment yourself - see Don’t upload your dependencies.
Server properties
Under Server properties you can set how much RAM (MB) and Storage (MB) this server may use, within your plan’s limits. Click Save properties to apply.
Start it
Go to the Console tab and press Start. You’ll see your app’s output appear. If it stops straight away, the console will say why - see Find out why your server stopped.
