Share a server with your team
Give someone else access to one of your servers, with only the permissions they need.
You can let other people help run a server without giving them your account. They get access to that one server, only for the things you allow, for as long as you choose.
Invite someone
- Open the server and go to the Sharing tab.
- Under Invite someone, enter their exact username or email. They must already have a Smile account.
- Click Send invite.
They’ll see the invite under Server invites on their own Servers page. Nothing is shared until they accept it.
Choose what they can do
Each person has their own set of permissions, which you can change at any time:
| Permission | Lets them |
|---|---|
| Console | See the console and run commands in it |
| View files | Browse and download the server’s files |
| Edit files | Upload, change and delete files (includes viewing) |
| Logs | Read the detailed logs |
| Settings | Change the runtime, commands and server properties, and add your own domain to a website |
| Power | Start, stop, restart and rebuild the server |
ВниманиеAnyone who can view files can read everything in them - including your bot token or
.envfile. Only give file access to people you’d trust with those.
Give access for a limited time
Next to each person you can choose how long their access lasts: No time limit, 1 hour, 1 day, 3 days, 1 week or 30 days. When the time runs out their access ends on its own.
Remove someone
Click remove next to their name on the Sharing tab. They lose access immediately.
If a server has been shared with you
Shared servers appear under Shared servers on your Servers page.
If your plan includes custom domains, the domains you add to a website shared with you can use your plan. If you leave, they keep working as long as someone else on the website has a plan that includes them. To give up your access, open the server, go to Settings and click Leave server. The owner can invite you again later.
