Trusted devices and groups
Skip the approval for your own devices, and share PCs with people you trust.
Trusted devices
When a request comes in, you can click Trust this device & accept instead of just accepting it. Then, in Smile Connect’s Settings (or on the phone’s Share this phone card), you can turn on:
- Accept trusted devices automatically - sessions from your trusted devices start without asking.
- Give trusted devices control automatically - they can use the mouse and keyboard straight away.
You can remove a device from Trusted devices at any time.
UwagaRequests from Smile support are never accepted automatically, even with these turned on.
Share PCs with other people
Groups let other people reach your devices - for example family, or your team.
- On connect.smilecorp.co.uk, open Groups and click Create group.
- Under Add existing Smile account, enter their email or username. They need a Smile account.
- New members start with no access. Tick what each person can do:
| Permission | Lets them |
|---|---|
| View devices | See the group’s devices and whether they’re online |
| Request sessions | Ask to connect and see a screen |
| Remote control | Ask for control of the mouse and keyboard |
| Manage devices | See the devices and rename them |
| Manage members | Add and remove people, and change their permissions |
| Add/remove group devices | Choose which devices are in the group |
The devices show up for them under Shared with you. Every session still has to be accepted at the device, unless it’s trusted.
Which devices a group can reach
The Group devices switch decides:
- Off - the group can reach every device the owner has.
- On - only the devices added to the group with +. A device can be in more than one group.
Only the group’s owner can change the switch. To stop sharing, remove the person or click Delete group.
